    Joe Hunter has lived in Columbia MD since 1972.  He graduated from Wilde Lake High School.  In addition, he has also raised his sons in Ellicott City since 1999.  Joe has seen a lot of changes over the years and Howard County is still a great place to live.

    Joe is a licensed home inspector, a registered architect, and an award-winning Realtor®.  He served as a Captain in the Air Force with expert knowledge in various house components and systems, and he served in the capacity of an environmental engineer for several top federal agencies.  Therefore, he is familiar with environmental issues such as mold, lead based paint, radon, oil tanks, brownfields, hazardous waste, and carbon monoxide.  Awards include The National Defense Service Medal, The General Thomas D. White award for environmental restoration, and NASA HQ team award for Directorate Diversity and Inclusion.

    Joe is so grateful for having the privilege of growing in Columbia with the vision of Jim Rouse shared by so many residents.  He believes in giving back to the community and served as the Chair of the Community Service Committee of his fellow fraternity and supported various organizations such as the Howard County Food Bank, Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center, Habitat for Humanity, Dasher Green Head Start Program, “Got Your Backpack” food donation program, Columbia Community Cares and many others.  He also served on the Executive Committee for Howard County Habitat for Humanity.
